Directory Services Engineer

The Directory Services Engineer is responsible for the Active Directory and Azure Active Directory infrastructure across the enterprise; architecture, planning, design, documentation, security, health, and management of multiple domains and forests.

Day-to-Day Role:

  • Plan, design, test, implement, troubleshoot, recommend, and schedule improvements, upgrades and repairs to the Active Directory domains
  • Manage and support Azure Active Directory in a hybrid environment
  • Utilize Powershell to manipulate and/or report on many domain objects efficiently
  • Deploy Group Policy objects to support IT and business objectives
  • Perform migrations and manage trusts and integrations with enterprise systems
  • Produce written documentation for proposals and projects which best describe solutions to business problems, including the recommended technology, the cost of the technology, and time required to successfully and fully implement the solution
  • Manage and maintain internal and external DNS in support of the environment and other teams
  • Design, implement and manage PKI infrastructure internally and externally
  • Provide support to other teams requiring AD expertise
  • Responsible for scripting and automating processes whenever possible
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance in area of expertise, as needed

Core Skills and
Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:

  • Requires one of the following:
    • Bachelor s degree with an emphasis in computer science, information systems, or related field of study and three (3) years of IT work experience, OR
    • High school diploma or equivalent and eight (8) years of IT work experience
  • Five (5) years of experience with Microsoft Active Directory Administration
  • Five (5) years of experience with Group Policy in support of business needs and objectives
  • Three (3) years of experience utilizing Powershell to manage a Windows environment
  • Two (2) years of experience in each of the following:
    • Azure Active Directory
    • Designing, implementing, and managing PKI infrastructure internally and externally
    • Managing and maintaining internal and external DNS in support of the environment and other teams
    • Complex cross-forest multi-domain environment
  • Understanding of IP networks and protocols
  • Excellent verbal and written skills necessary in order to communicate intricate job-related processes
  • Up to 5% domestic travel
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver s license
  • Requires a favorable motor vehicle report upon hire
  • Additional work hours including weekends and holidays as required
