The Shoring Specialist / Advisor (herein known as SSA) will seek out new projects and develop shoring opportunities from conception to installation.
The Shoring Specialist will provide our customers with a knowledgeable link between the products manufactured by our company, and the practical use of those products from the prospective of a professional who has worked in the underground excavation and civil construction industry.
Open-mindedness, creativity and inventiveness are key components to the function of the Special Operations Shoring Division (herein known as SOSD), therefore communication of new ideas, shared knowledge of past experiences, and collaboration on project solutions is encouraged.
Essential Functions:
Primary:
The SSA's primary duty is to develop new shoring opportunities from researching local and national job reporting publications, field calls from dealers and contractors, and to use his/her background and experience to find inventive ways to utilize our equipment to solve shoring solutions.
The SSA will also be required to work with the cad department as required and develop proposals for these potential shoring projects using Excel, Word and Navision programs provided for that purpose.
When these projects are fully developed, the SSA will follow the process from delivery of equipment, to traveling to the project jobsite and providing installation advisement.
The actual onsite participation required of the SSA will depend upon the volume of the work on hand, the talent level of the customers workforce, the amount of time quoted to the customer, and the availability of other Advisors.
Frequency of both in and out of state travel will depends solely on workload and availability of other Advisors.
Travel costs are paid by Efficiency Production / Arcosa Shoring and will consist of overnights Monday-Friday.
The SSA will be required to set up research and development projects, help with year-end inventory, travel to prospective customer locations and industry trade shows as needed to promote our products, and other unspecified duties.
Performance Expectations:
It is expected that the SSA will arrive to work on time, ready to work, in a neat and presentable manner, dressed in slacks or jeans, and a company provided shirt.
The Specialist will discharge his duties as described above, always mindful of the company's interests and the purpose of our existence, which is to provide professional support to our customers and income for the company.
Scope of Authority (Level of decision making with respect to essential job functions):
This position has the authority to make decisions on the behalf of the company that are in accordance with company policy, company Tabulated Data and OSHA regulations with respect to the installation and removal of slide rail and other specialized Efficiency Production / Arcosa shoring systems.
Measurement of Performance:
Performance will be evaluated on:
Attendance, attitude, timely and accurate completion of the essential functions, willingness to assist with ongoing projects, and efficiency and accuracy in all tasks.
The growth of the customer base as well as the growth of revenue from that base will also be a measure of performance.
This is not an all-inclusive list, rather an overview of the most common performance evaluation practices.
Minimum Education Requirements:
High School Graduate or equivalent work experience.
1-2 years of construction-based experience with an emphasis on underground construction is preferred.
Experience as an equipment operator and/or experience running a crew or project is a plus.
General computer skills are necessary and can be trained for the right applicant.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
