Perform internal and third party quality audits, and collaborate with production facilities to obtain and maintain quality and product safety certifications
Day-to-Day Role:
Collaborate with production facilities to obtain and maintain quality and product safety certifications
Conduct internal audits and assist sites with 2nd & 3rd party audits
Communicate results of audit
Consult with production facilities to ensure understanding and compliance
Communicate with customers and third party agencies as needed
Issue and verify implementation of corrective actions
Design and implement processes, procedures, and methods to standardize requirements, training, and production facility understanding and compliance
Create, maintain, and review documentation
Train employees on quality certification requirements
Analyze data, recognize trends, and propose solutions to quality issues
Recommend continuous improvement plans where efficiency, quality, safety, or service can be improved
May perform product testing as needed
Core Skills and
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:
Requires one of the following:
Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in engineering, mathematics, or related scientific field of study and three (3) years of quality auditing experience or proven auditing proficiency
Associate's degree with an emphasis in engineering, mathematics, or related scientific field of study and six (6) years of quality auditing experience or proven auditing proficiency
High school diploma or equivalent and twelve (12) years of quality auditing experience or proven auditing proficiency
Familiar with British Retail Consortium (BRC) or similar quality / product safety certification requirements
Ability to obtain and maintain formal certifications as an ISO or American Society for Quality Certified Quality Auditor (CQA)
Extensive analytical experience including investigating issues, recognizing trends, and recommending solutions to non-routine complex issues
Excellent visual and color acuity required
Math skills and basic statistics
Experience using various statistical and quality methodologies including but not limited to Statistical Quality Control (SQC), 5S, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Root Cause Analysis, and Corrective Action/Preventive Action (CAPA)
Knowledge of products, materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of products
Excellent verbal and written skills necessary in order to persuade and influence decision making of individuals, groups, or work teams, and to communicate difficult issues
Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
Ability to successfully prioritize, and organize projects, deadlines, and tasks with little supervision in both team and independent environments
Ability to travel up to 25% domestic and international
Ability to obtain and maintain a valid passport
Requires a valid driver's license and favorable motor vehicle report upon hire
Must follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
