Associate Business Analyst

Assist the department with information gathering and reporting as well as represent the department on technology related projects working closely with IT and other departments


Day-to-Day Role:

  • Serve as a technology resource for the department to help solve technology issues by working directly with the Information Technology department

  • Build expertise through learning the company's products, distribution channels, procedures, business operating systems, and personnel

  • Research and prepare reports to consolidate information into cohesive correspondences or other written forms for use in management decision-making

  • Study current practices, identify opportunities to improve business processes through information systems and non-system driver changes, and recommend modifications

  • Maintain system and operation protocols by writing and updating procedures

  • Develop and initiate improvements to collect, document and produce data for pricing and volume information by customer, plant, and market

  • Accurately obtain and assess data and reports (e.g. product line data, historical sales pricing and volume, allowances, trade data, below guideline reports, field service reports, competitive activity reports, quotation worksheets)

  • Recognize and investigate variances in expected and actual information within reports

  • Assist with training programs and materials that will help end-users in utilizing new or enhanced applications

  • Learn all relevant computer software used in the department

  • Support functions related to pricing analyses,  product costing analysis, product line management, to include forecasting and new product development

  • Maintain user confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential

  • Provide support to others in the department by completing a wide variety of projects as assigned


Core Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:



  • Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in business administration, finance, information technology, or related field of study

  • Business systems analysis experience related to enhancements, upgrades and gathering information

  • Ability to identify issues, compare data, investigate and resolve discrepancies

  • Ability to maintain composure and adapt in a dynamic, fast-paced, customer-focused work environment characterized by rapid change, minimal lead times, and multiple competing priorities

  • Ability to streamline processes, integrate, and associate pieces of information gathered from multiple sources and apply to projects

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

  • Excellent verbal and written skills necessary in order to communicate intricate job-related processes, procedures, and decisions

  • Ability to demonstrate personal accountability, take ownership of work, and apply learned concepts

  • Must have ability to communicate and collaborate with other departments to gather and provide information

  • Organizational skills including the ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines

  • Ability to utilize business sense and creativity to develop new ideas and solutions

  • Microsoft Word skills to include the ability to create reports containing graphs and other advanced functions (e.g., create templates that utilize macros, adding content controls, setting user permissions)

  • Microsoft Excel skills to include the ability to create and generate spreadsheets (e.g., V-lookup, graphs, pivot tables)

  • Microsoft PowerPoint skills to include the ability to create and generate presentations


Preferred Skills and Qualifications:



  • Business Intelligence (BI) experience

  • SAP experience

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
