Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage database backups and the recovery process. Update databases as required

  • Responsible for defining High Availability and Disaster Recovery (DR) strategy while working closely with the Business Continuity Team

  • Perform DR design and testing for the SAP Landscape

  • Install┬  OS and SAP database patches on a regular cycle

  • Install, configure, and maintain 'Always-On' and SQL mirroring for high availability systems

  • Provide support and maintenance for daily administrative tasks including transports, OSS notes, performance monitoring, root cause analysis, etc.

  • Function as a point of contact for production SAP database-related issues

  • Conduct ongoing monitoring and maintenance to ensure stability and optimal performance on all assigned server environments

  • Advise, assist, and train other SAP database administrators, function as point of contact for production SAP Basis incidents

  • Provide written technical and process documentation for support personnel, internal/external customers, and management

  • Analyze the current SAP environment, identify system incompatibilities or shortcomings and provide potential improvements to the backend Infrastructure systems

  • Analyze Basis Admin tickets to identify potential gaps in support.┬  Work with appropriate personnel to mitigate or eliminate those support gaps by suggesting modifications to policy or procedures

  • Provide second/third level support for SAP issues

Minimum┬ Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:

  • Requires one of the following:

    • Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in computer science, database administration, information systems or related field of study and seven (7) years of SAP Database administration experience running Microsoft SQL Server

    • Associate's degree in computer science, information systems or related field of study and nine (9) years of SAP Database administration experience running Microsoft SQL Server

    • High school diploma or equivalent and twelve (12) years of SAP Database administration experience running Microsoft SQL Server

  • Five (5) years of experience with Windows Server 2008 R2 or greater

  • Three (3) years of combined experience on Microsoft SQL Server 2012, 2014, and/or 2016

  • Five (5) years of SAP Basis administration experience

  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting servers running in a VMware environment

  • Knowledge of virtualization, Active Directory, and Single Sign-on (SSO)

  • Excellent verbal and written skills necessary in order to communicate intricate job-related processes to internal and external customers

  • Ability to maintain composure and adapt in a dynamic, fast-paced, customer-focused work environment characterized by rapid change, minimal lead times, and multiple competing priorities

  • Up to 25% domestic and international travel

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver's license and passport

  • Requires a favourable motor vehicle report upon hire

  • Additional work hours including weekends, holidays, and on-call rotation as required

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
